I live in Tel Aviv, where I teach Hebrew and work on my second degree in the Studies of the Hebrew Language. During my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking and listening to music. In my studies in the past, I have focused on Chinese religion and learnt several foreign languages. Languages fascinate me. I love learning them and enjoy playing a role in the learning process of others. I find the Hebrew language – its diverse layers, its cultural richness and its history of revival in the modern era – particularly intriguing.
I started teaching Hebrew in the summer of 1994. In the following year, I acquired the Hebrew University’s Teachers Certificate for teaching Hebrew as a second language.
I believe that as the world becomes more computerized, it is only natural that online learning comprises a growing part of education. This medium gives an opportunity to share a Hebrew moment with people all around the globe.

David Emanuel gave up a successful career in computing and telecommunications to pursue a new career in Hebrew Bible at the Hebrew University. Whilst at the university, he spent two valuable years at the Orion Center for the Study of the Dead Sea Scrolls. In that time, he managed their website, conducted research for their online bibliography, and provided technical support for their local computer network. Additionally, he worked for three years as a Research Assistant, where his primary duties were to edit articles for the Encyclopaedia Aethiopica, an encyclopedia devoted to providing relatively detailed information on all aspects of Ethiopian society: history, languages, religions, food, wildlife, politics etc. Currently, he completed a Ph.D at the Hebrew University’s Bible department; the dissertation focuses on Biblical Hebrew poetry, and the psalmist’s use of the Exodus motif.
In his copious free time David also sits on the Board of a non-profit organization that provides various types of assistance to the Falasa community here in Israel.

Born and raised in the beautiful Western Galilee, I live in the village of Kfar Vradim, overlooking the Mediterranean coast on the West and the Golan Mountains on the East. I am married with three young children, and enjoy going on trips and discovering new places, people and cultures. I also have great passion for the Hebrew language, which has great historic roots and has remarkably revived itself in the past few generations.
I am a graduate of Tel Aviv University in Hebrew Language and in Education, and have been teaching Hebrew for 13 years. We have recently returned from the US, where we lived for five years in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. During that time I gained experience in teaching both modern and biblical Hebrew to non-Hebrew speakers, at the Jewish Community Center of Dallas (adult education) and at the Yavneh Academy of Dallas high school. This was a wonderful opportunity for me to interact with a new culture and feel like an ambassador for Israel and the Hebrew language. Joining the e-teacher team allows me to continue in this path now that I am back home in Israel.

I was born in Israel but I have lived in Venezuela, Spain, and Kenya; currently I reside in Ramat-Gan.
After graduating the University of Haifa with a B.A. in Hebrew Bible Studies and Jewish History , I taught for many years in both Israeli and Hebrew day schools. While living in Venezuela I obtained an M.A in Organizational Development from the Andrés Bello University, and worked in the Jewish community's educational system where I taught Hebrew and Bible classes. During my last decade in the Moral y Luces y Herzl-Bialik high school, I served as Vice-principal and Director of the Judaic studies Department. I have visited many schools in Jewish communities throughout South America, and I was personally involved in the development of curricula for Hebrew language (for which I wrote a first grade reading book) and Judaic studies. In Madrid I worked as a Coordinator of Hebrew and Judaic Studies in the Estrella Toledano School. In both Madrid and Nairobi I taught in the Israeli school.
Being fluent in Spanish helped me design my own courses for teaching this language to Israeli students, both children and adults, which I have been doing for the last 10 years.
I truly enjoy teaching; from every class I learn something new about people, places, cultures, and life. I believe teaching is as enriching for the teacher as it is for the student.
